This week on News 1130 in Vancouver, I discussed these items: Airbus designing the next generation of airplanes to be 3d printed: Currently just in the concept stages, Airbus is looking to build it’s next generation airplanes over the next 20 years. Using large scale 3d printers (80m x 80m) which use additive layer manufacturing,…
Last night at the Vancouver Hack Space (VHS), there was a build night for all the local buyers of Tantillus 3d printers. There were 11 Tantillus’ (tantilli?) in the room in various stages of completion, plus a handful of other awesome printers in the hackspace. I worked on my Tantillus and made some progress. All…
After a night of fixing various problems, I finally have my Prusa printing objects that actually resemble objects! It’s no where near calibrated nor perfect but it’s working reliably now that I have the J-Head hotend installed along with Greg’s ‘Guidler’ extruder along with the motor strain relief bracket. I had to fix a number…
This past weekend was the third installment of the Live at Squamish music festival. For the second year in a row, I attended to shoot photos of all the bands that made the trek up the Sea to Sky highway. But I almost didn’t get there…despite heading up early, there was a huge accident on…
It’s been a few weeks since my last build update so I figured it might be good time to post some updates on all the printers I’ve got on the go at the moment. Prusa Mendel I’ve been tweaking my Prusa quite a bit lately and have been getting really good results as you can…
Yesterday, our 3d printing club, 3D604, finished our fourth day of 3d printer demos at Science World over two weekends during Spring Break. We had 16 printers the first weekend and 13 the second one – a pretty impressive turnout! It was a lot of fun showing the 3d printing technology to thousands of people…

Did you see how poor his prints are? Shame on him for being the one to keep reprap in the dark ages of home 3D printing.
Haha…yeah, I was surprised. My only guess is that he did them quick and dirty while the tv crew was waiting for it to finish.
