Just another day in the morgue
What do you get when two photographers look for a way to play around with all their camera gear? They plan a photoshoot of course! One knows someone with a great location to shoot in, the other knows some great models.
So after a couple of weeks of planning & coordinating schedules, we spent a few hours this past weekend in the morgue of the Vancouver Police Museum and these are some of my shots that I thought turned out pretty good:
You can view the full, unretouched (aside from some cropping and B&W conversions) photoset on Flickr.
This type of shoot is the most fun since there is no pressure, just having fun shooting and playing with lots of camera gear…and weapons. I can’t wait to do more of this.
Thanks to Chuck & Barbara for being so great to work with and to Chris for lettings us run around inside the Police Museum once again.
Looks like it was fun! Who owns the Alien Bees? Curious how they stand up against Powerwizards :)
Scott owns the Alien Bees….it’s a studio flash…a Pocket Wizard is just a remote trigger you could use with one…we used a wired connection to trigger them. Although we both agreed it would have been nice to have a few Pocket Wizards yesterday when we were trying to trigger a number of lights at the same time, through windows: we actually had one on a boom out the window to light through another window.
It appears that you had a great day.
I loved the pictures….going to go have a peak at your flickr page now.
Love the lighting. Going in for the kiss is my fav.
SUPER creepy! Great photos… really nice use of natural light! How much extra lighting did you use here other than the studio flash?
We had a TON of ambient light…huge skylights and big windows on an overcast day and we shot during the early evening so didn’t need much else but did have an SB-900, 2 SB-600 speedlights plus the Alien Bees studio flashes.
Ahhh gotcha… I can barely tell there’s studio light at all! Looks so natural!
very cool…….all the photoshoots are original and inspirational….I still have a lot to learn, and can’t wait to Walk with you soon.
