Gold Medal Sledge Hockey: 2200 Stills
During the Gold Medal Sledge Hockey game between Japan and USA, I shot just over 2200 still photos. I posted a number of them on Flickr but thought stringed together, they all made a pretty neat video: To make this video, I used a very similar process to how I make my still photo based…
10 Minute Cooking School
One of my favorite directors, Robert Rodriguez made some cooking videos for the dvd extras on his movies. Here’s his video for Sin City Breakfast Tacos…this looks awesome and I just love his method….think I might go make these right now:
Nikon, Flip and Olympus…oh my!
It’s been like Christmas lately with a whole bunch of new camera gear coming across my desk. Here’s a quick overview of some of the new stuff I’ve been playing with. D7000 Earlier this week I received the much awaited Nikon D7000 camera body that I had preordered awhile ago: It’s a significant update to…
DIY Steadicam + Nikon D90 Video
Years ago, I built this do-it-yourself poor man’s steadicam (which you can buy preassembled here) for about $20. It was for use with my mini-dv camcorder at the time. It worked pretty well and like that camcorder, has unfortunately been collecting dust in my garage for a few years now. I thought it might be…
A Trip to the Kwik-E-Mart
After reading Miss 604’s post about a promotion as part of the upcoming Simpsons movie to convert some 7-11’s into Kwik-E-Marts…and the fact that is was actually happening not too far from home (the only one in Canada), I decided I had to check it out. As I was just about to leave, my friend…
Fly Zone skydiving simulator
I spent last Friday afternoon doing something I’ve wanted to do forever – skydiving! Well, in this case, it was simulated in a vertical wind tunnel but as you’ll see, it’s pretty close to the real thing: Out in Delta, Fly Zone Body Flight, gives visitors a chance to experience the feeling of free fall…

That was cool! So that was actually time lapse sped up? Really looked like a video!
I’ve got an idea for a time lapse type video spinning around in my head. I’ll let you know if and when I ever pull it off. :)
Technically it’s not a timelapse, but rather just a ‘speed up’…but it displays the frames fast enough to appear like a time lapse.
The HD video was shot in real time (about a 20 minute drive normally) at 60 frames per second which I sped up 1000x to have it last about a minute and a half in the end.
I’d love to hear your idea for a time lapse!
Haha very suitable music :)
Wow it’s hard to believe that was sped up 1000 times… goes to show you how slow the traffic is in Vancouver! :)
I’m gonna try and get some timelapse with my Nikon for the moving we are doing this weekend. It’s pretty tricky to set up, I’ll give ya that! Thanks for the inspiration!
My idea is something along the lines of this:

But with a little more thought and effort put into it. Thinking of just playing some scales, but taking a photo (or perhaps two) of each note being played, and then actually adding in the sound for each note. Not really sure how it will turn out… Just need the time to get it done, and time is quite precious these days.
