This past weekend I attended one day of the ImageQuest Professional Photographers Convention in Richmond. I kept waiting for someone to ask me to leave since I don’t consider myself a professional photographer. The only reason I wanted to attend was in order to see Joe McNally’s session. I’ve seen a number of videos he’s…
For the second year in a row, I was asked to help document the Christmas Wish Breakfast event at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver. This was the 24th year of the event and it was the biggest yet! A highlight this year was the surprise from the Vancouver Fire Department who had a couple…
After a month long wait, my Lensbaby Composer has finally arrived: Mounted on my D90: With the wide angle lens attached: I’ve only had it for a couple of days but have had a few chances to play with it: and even shot some video with it: So far it’s been a lot of fun…

Hmmm.. I have the Nikon 50mm 1.8… what’s the advantage of getting a 35mm 1.8?
Thanks John!
It’s just a wider prime…I’m finding I prefer to use faster primes than much slower zooms lately (can’t even remember the last time I put a zoom on my camera). At it’s price point, it’s cheap enough to have one in my bag.
I also have a 50mm f1/4 lens which is my second favorite lens after my fisheye.
