Lensbaby Composer has arrived

After a month long wait, my Lensbaby Composer has finally arrived:

Mounted on my D90:

With the wide angle lens attached:

I’ve only had it for a couple of days but have had a few chances to play with it:

and even shot some video with it:

So far it’s been a lot of fun to play with but I’m still getting the hang of adjusting the ‘sweet spot’ and playing with the different aperture rings that it comes with. Since the Composer (and all Lensbabies) has no electronic connection to the camera, you have to use completely manual settings when taking photos. No metering on my D90 so you just have to change a setting, take a shot and review it see if it was what you had in mind.

Keep an eye on my Lensbaby Flickr set for more photos and video with the Composer as I get time to play with it.

  1. Found you via Tyler Ingram. Hello fellow D90-er! Woooow seriously nice Lens Baby pics. I’ve always wanted one… this just might convince me. Do you find it too unwieldy to switch back and forth with your other lenses?

  2. Vancity Allie: It’s pretty easy to switch lenses – I usually have a couple on me when out taking pictures anyways….although lately I’ve pretty much left the Composer on my D90 to force me to use it which has been a lot of fun.

  3. Those are some great example pics of what you can do with a Lensbaby. Thank you for posting them. Thinking more seriously about buying one.
