Vancouver Canucks Scrimmage Game
Earlier this week I was invited to the first public scrimmage game of 2013 for the Vancouver Canucks. Rogers Arena was packed with fans who have been waiting for hockey to return after the lengthy labour dispute.
Earlier this week I was invited to the first public scrimmage game of 2013 for the Vancouver Canucks. Rogers Arena was packed with fans who have been waiting for hockey to return after the lengthy labour dispute.
Thanks to an invitation from LG Canada back in December, I was able to meet and photograph some of the team members of the then proposed team for Canada’s Snowboard Cross (SBX) Olympians. From left: Maëlle Ricker, Rob Fagan, and Drew Neilson They still had a number of qualifying events to compete in before the…
Here’s my third gigapan taken in West Vancouver on May 12, 2011 of downtown Vancouver (fullscreen): I debuted it during PhotoCamp at Northern Voice this past weekend…everyone in the audience seemed to like it. I also finally tried out Morten’s suggestion to try out Microsoft’s Zoom.it as well although it does require Silverlight to work…
Our first full day in Alaska had us going on a 6+ hour catamaran boat cruise with Kanai Fjord Tours of the Kanai Fjord National Park. Apparently, they rarely get sun in Alaska as the crew kept (jokingly) apologizing for the amazingly warm weather. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt but also brought a…
A while ago, I picked up the $35 Konstruktor DIY film camera from Lomography. It seemed like a fun project of building your own 35mm film SLR camera. Turns out it was! The camera comes in a box that opens up to reveal two plates of parts (just like old model car kits) and a…
I finally got around to trying out the macro feature of the lens adaptors I bought awhile ago for my iPhone (which I can also use on my Zi6 which has it’s own macro mode): You basically just have to unscrew the wide angle lens and it breaks down into two parts – the macro…
Head over to Michael Gist’s site for information about a new bill that could be introduced as soon as tomorrow that will have huge impacts on peer to peer file sharing in Canada. The main bullet point is that file sharers would be fined $500 PER copyrighted file they shared. I have a hard time…

Good job John! Did you get press pass to wander around and shoot or did you just wander around and shoot? lol
I was in the Rogers Lounge (400 level) and had an escorted tour around the rink by Kevin Kinghorn who does the Canucks website. Was a lot of fun but had to shoot through glass.
They do keep the glass clean and scratches minimal though. When I was there shooting for the world cup, the world cup league does not allow the removal of the glass plugs to shoot through.
