Qik for the iPhone
At MobileCamp Vancouver this past weekend, I thought it might be fun to try out Qik.com‘s iPhone app. It’s currently only available for use on jailbroken iPhones (via Cydia). While David was talking about some iPhone tricks, I streamed him live via wifi to Qik and we had it on the projector in the room….
My Earth Hour photo in print
This year, during Earth Hour, I played around with my camera and some tea lights on the floor. This photo is the result: It was printed in The Herald-Gazette from Barnesville, Georgia on March 31st, 2009. Someone at the newspaper found my photo on Flickr and sent me an email to ask permission to use…
eeeXubuntu on the eeePC
Always curious to try new things, I figured I’d try out Ubuntu (gutsy) on my eeePC. The nice thing about Ubuntu (and many versions of Linux these days) is that they are available in ‘live cd’ versions which means you just boot up the cd image that you burn after downloading and then you can…
CupCakeCamp YVR
Last week, Vancouver hosted it’s first CupCakeCamp at WorkSpace. It helped to raise $540 for the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. I brought my camera along and skipped dinner: Organized by the @awesome (that’s right) Stephanie and helped out by a bunch of great volunteers, it was a huge success. Check out my full set of…
What’s in my camera bag
Inspired by kk’s bag photo, I thought I’d document ‘most’ of what I’ll be carrying around with me during the Olympic Games at any given time. I’ll most likely change things up depending on where I’m going to be on a given day but this stuff won’t be far from me at all times. Click…

Revisiting Toon Paint
I spent a great weekend in Squamish recently for their annual music festival. I was shooting for Rebecca and she has a couple of posts with my photos from the event. You can also view my entire set on Flickr. I started playing around with Toon Paint again on my iPhone to give some of…

I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these!
================================
I get great pictures with my Nikon camera.
Looking forward to the samples. I figure I’ll be in the market for a DSLR at some point in the near future and this is on my list of possibilities.
Where did you find one so soon after release?
Kerrisdale Cameras (Coquitlam Centre)….they got 4 in yesterday and I got the last one. London Drugs also had two but one was on hold and the other was the demo….I opted to break the seal on the boxes myself at Kerrisdale.
