Tech Tuesday: GameStick & Belkin WeMo Light switch

This week on News 1130 radio in Vancouver, I discussed these items:

  • GameStick: A new Kickstarter campaign that hopes to bring the Android gaming experience to your tv this April with the most portable game console ever. About the size of a USB stick, it has already doubled it’s funding goal. It plugs into the HDMI port on any tv and comes with a wireless controller so you’ll be playing Angry Birds in no time for $79. (source)
  • Belkin WeMo Light switch – We’ve talked about Belkin’s WeMo switch previously and their new light switch (due out later this year for $49) gives you wifi control over any existing light in your house, without the need for a bulky plug as the light switch replaces your existing one, while still giving you a regular switch in its place. You can control the light via your smartphone from anywhere as well as set it up to automatically turn on at specified times or it can be triggered by internet events (source)
