Tech Tuesday: Bluetooth Gloves & the LifeStraw water filter

This week on News 1130 Radio in Vancouver I discussed these items:

  • It’s a glove and a bluetooth headset: These $50 HiCall gloves are also a bluetooth handset. For those cold morning calls, you simply hold your thumb up to your ear and your pinky to your mouth and the gloves work like a handset. They also have a special lining that allows them to work with your touchscreen smartphone (source)
  • LifeStraw Personal Water Filter: this $25 ‘straw’ can filter up to 1000L of water and only weighs 2oz while removing 99.9% of bateria and parasites. It’s perfect for hiking or camping and has a 5 year shelf life. (source)
